QUESTION:Write about a time when u lost something that was very precious to you .
Just before my friend , Agnes , migrated to Australia , she gave me a silver bracelet. It was a charm[魅力,魔力] bracelet with several trinkets[小首饰] on it . Each of them symbolised the special time i had with Agnes while we were growing up . i wore the bracelet with me wherever i went unless i was playing sports .
At the end of last year , my friends and i went on an impromptu[无准备的] cycling trip after watching a movie . WE decided to cycle along the road and make a u-turn just before the expressway . As i had worn the bracelet to the cinema , i forgot to take it out . The wind was particularly strong that day and the traffic was exceptionally[罕见,特别,非常] heavy . We cycled close to the side of the road . i could feel the wind blowing against my face whenever vehicles whizzed[飕飕地移动,飞速行驶] past .
After the two-hour ride , we were on our way to return our bicycles when i suddenly realisesd that my bracelet was no longer with me . i stopped in my tracks . For a moment , i was hoping that i had taken it off at the last minute and shoved it into my bag . Wheeling[推,拉] my bicycle to the side of the road , i squatted[蹲] on the ground and frantically emptied the contents of my bag on the pavement . i rummaged among the items , but my bracelet was nowhere to be found .
In my distress , i ran along the path that i had cycled earlier without even bothering to gather my things .My friends called after me , but i ignored them . My sole aim was to retrieve my elusive bracelet . However , it was nowhere in sight . i was so intent[专注] on the search that i did not even realise that i had stepped into a lane of heavy traffic . Horns blared[发出响亮而刺耳地声音] , but i was heedless[掉以轻心] of danger , until one of my friends pulled me aside .
i was in tears and i begged my friends to help me search for the bracelet . We cycled back along the path that we had taken earlier, scanning the ground for the thin silver chain[链子] , but no one could find the bracelet . i knew that i would never be able to find it . Not only had Agnes spend a large sum of money on it , the shop where she had bought the bracelet had closed down . i would not be able to make a replacement .
A few nights later , i threw away the red velvet[丝绸] box that i kept the bracelet in . My heart ached and my eyes would brim[边沿] with tears whenever i thought about the missing bracelet . Up till now , i have not told Agnes that i lost her bracelet . i am sure she will me very upset with me.
